ORT UK Virtual Business Event: Back To The Future

22.02.21 Events

ORT UK’s Virtual Business Event provided guests with some much-needed optimism about the future of work, post-pandemic.

BBC News broadcaster Samantha Simmonds led the discussion between our expert panel, consisting of Olly Olsen (Co-Founder, The Office Group), Josh Graff (Country Manager & VP EMEA & LATAM, LinkedIn), Sophie Eden (Co-Founder, Gordon & Eden) and Euan Blair (Founder, WhiteHat).

Between them, they shared their predictions for what to expect our next workspaces to look like, how online communities will support one another to find employment, why recruiters will no longer be requesting specific hours or locations and how apprenticeship will rival securing a top university degree.

Having all experienced huge shifts in their various sectors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the panel revealed what their industries had learned from the past 12 months and how we can look forward to more inclusive, flexible and fulfilling careers.

‘We are delighted and grateful that we’ve been able to continue delivering virtual fundraising events during these challenging times. As an education charity which focuses on training and supporting young people across the globe to fulfil their career potential, we wanted to provide our own community with some positive insights into the post-pandemic working world. Our fantastic panel offered us all plenty of food for thought on what to expect in terms of workspace, networking, recruitment and training options, assuring us that the future of work looks bright!’
