Business Disrupted

01.04.22

The ORT UK Business Breakfast 2022 took place at the stunning Treehouse Hotel, London on 31.3.22.

Guests gathered for a delicious buffet breakfast, taking the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals.

Candice Krieger, The Jewish News Business Editor, then led a fascinating panel discussion with three ‘business disruptors – Alex Stephany (Beam), Anne-Charlotte Mornington (OLIO) and Duncan Kreeger (TAB).

They spoke about how their companies had broken the traditional business mould to make a social impact, from helping homeless people into employment, to reducing food waste around the globe, to enabling people from different financial backgrounds to invest in property.

The morning was hosted by Lloyd Dorfman CBE, who is stepping down from the position after 16 years.

Although the event was free to attend, guests could buy raffle tickets or donate to ORT UK’s Ukraine Emergency Appeal. Proceeds raised will go directly to help ORT’s 8000 students, staff and families survive the crisis.

As always with a Jewish gathering, there was far too much food, so ORT UK ensured that nothing went to waste, by downloading the OLIO app and the food was collected immediately!

ORT UK Chair Annette Kurer said:

‘It was absolutely wonderful to welcome both new and familiar faces to the ORT UK Business Breakfast 2022, hosted for the final time by Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE. The speaker panel, led by our brilliant moderator Candice, gave us fascinating insights into their ground-breaking business models and highlighted the urgent need for companies to be transparent and consider their corporate social responsibility. We took the opportunity to raise funds for our Ukraine Emergency Appeal and we are extremely grateful to our guests for their support and generosity.’

We hope all those that joined us had a wonderful morning.
