The ORT JUMP Employability Skills Programme 2024 launched last Thursday, with the first Working Skills Day for Year 12 students at Yavneh College.
Six facilitators from a range of industries led interactive group workshops, designed to help students identify their strengths and explore vital workplace skills outside of the school curriculum, that today’s employers may require.
Sessions included:
Collaborative working – designing a charity marketing campaign
Strategic Planning – reaching a deal between administrators and buyers when a business folds
Negotiation – persuading a team to buy or sell an item within a budget
Influencing People – pitching a book for publication
Decision Making – deciding where to invest 10% of a large pension fund
Creating Partnerships – pitching a partnership between two apps that compliment each other
A huge thank you to our fantastic facilitators for giving up their time to inspire tomorrow’s workforce!
We look forward to bringing the programme to more schools over the coming months.
