Adam Overlander-Kaye

Chief Executive

Adam Overlander-Kaye became Chief Executive of ORT UK in May 2016 having joined the organisation from Reform Judaism, where he had been Director of Fundraising since 2010.  With a passion for education Adam has more than 20 years of professional experience within the Jewish community having been Fundraising Manager at UJIA (2005-10) following a decade of working in the field of Informal Jewish education also at UJIA, the Union of Jewish Students and Bnei Akiva.  Originally from Manchester he is a former governor of Akiva primary school and a regular presenter and educator at Limmud. Adam has a BA in History & Social Science from the University of Birmingham, an MA in Jewish History from the University of Leeds and a Certificate in Professional Jewish Leadership at Brandeis University in the USA.


Mia Lyons

ORT-JUMP Coordinator

Mia has worked as the ORT-JUMP coordinator since May 2013.  Since that time the programme has grown to over 300 student/mentor partnerships. ORT-JUMP works within 8 Jewish Secondary Schools.  Before working at ORT UK, Mia's background was in advertising and she also ran her own fashion retail company.

Natalie Lieberman

Office Manager

Natalie joined ORT UK in March 2014 as maternity cover. She previously worked for another large Jewish charity and prior to that spent 17 years working for exhibition organisers in London.

Anthea Jackson

Head of Events and Programmes

Anthea joined ORT UK in 2015 and was delighted to be appointed Head of Events & Programmes this year.

In 2016 Anthea launched the ORT UK Bar/Bat Mitzvah Twinning programme, partnering with Muswell Hill Shul community as well as initiating the ORT UK Professional Women's Networking Group and is excited to develop further programmes and initiatives in the future.

Born and bred in Glasgow, Anthea has many years consultancy experience  both in the charity ( UJIA/Jewish Care)  and hospitality sectors (Glasgow Restaurant Association/Scottish Entertainment Awards).  Her event portfolio has included events of all sizes from community interfaith dialogue, large-scale charity fundraisers to VIP receptions and award dinners. 



Claudia Williams

Events Manager

Claudia is ORT UK's Events Manager. She is a marketing and events expert, previosuly working in Professional Services before joining ORT UK in 2017. Claudia has been passionately organising events from parties and dinners to conferences and launch events since graduating from Birmingham University in 2005. She is looking forward to creating some exciting and memorable events for ORT UK in the future.

Debbie Lightman

Communications and Marketing Officer

Debbie joined the team in 2017 as ORT UK's Communications and Marketing Officer. Having worked as a fieldworker for the Union of Jewish Students in 2001, Debbie then pursued a career in journalism, writing for a variety of national magazines. In 2013, Debbie began freelancing for the Jewish News supplements, before training in Social Media Management. She is thrilled to have joined the ORT UK team and hopes to raise awareness of the charity across social media and beyond.

  • Meet Daniel, Shachar and Olga from the Kfar Hassidim school. these three young Israelis will receive their education thanks to ORT and will be the next generation of computer programmers, paramedics and mechanical engineers. In the words of Olga who is studying computer science and physics, "I want to be a computer programmer in the future. There were hardly any computers in the school two years ago but now in our new science lab the teachers help me achieve my dreams. I came from a difficult family background and being in the boarding school has helped me to turn my life around and focus on my studies. Thank you for everything you have done for me and my friends at this school."
  • Hodaya and Yasmin both dream of becoming doctors. Luckily, they're studying at the World ORT Kadima Mada Kfar Silver school near Ashkelon, Israel, which thanks to YOUR support, has brand new chemistry labs. No wonder it's their favourite lesson! "When we first came, the paint was coming off the walls and chairs were broken. The new classrooms help us learn better, because the teachers have better facilities and the room is more comfortable, making it easier to concentrate in class." It's all part of our long-term project to renovate the entire campus.
