ORT Advanced Technology Centre, Samara, 1998-1999

Samara is a large industrial city in South-Eastern Russia with a Jewish population of 10,000. In October 1999, ORT opened an advanced technology centre based at the Jewish school in the city.

The new centre aimed to teach the school's students the advanced skills in Information Technology which they needed to compete in Russia's competitive employment market, and to encourage more Jewish families to send their children to the school.

The centre's construction was made possible through the generosity of ORT UK donors, and named in honour of Lord and Lady Hatter.
