Equal opportunities for Israelis in the Periphery

World ORT is seeking to establish a network of 25 “boutique” high schools excelling in science and technology studies in the Negev, Galilee and elsewhere in the periphery, the goal being to reduce socioeconomic gaps in the country.
 
Avi Ganon, CEO of World ORT Kadima Mada, said that Israelis living outside the country’s centre were educationally disadvantaged and better schools in such regions were critical to reducing inequalities.
 

Adam Overlander-Kaye joins ORT UK as new Chief Executive

ORT UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Overlander-Kaye as its new Chief Executive.  Adam succeeds Dan Green, who was promoted recently to the role of Chief Operating Officer of World ORT.
Adam joins the organisation from Reform Judaism, where he has been Director of Fundraising for the last six years. Adam is also a governor of Akiva Primary School in Finchley and a regular presenter and educator at Limmud.

What a year for ORT UK Events!

Over £500,000 was raised at our annual dinner and £150,000 was raised at ORT UK’s other key events this year.
 
In March we welcomed the Director General of the BBC, Tony Hall, to our annual Business Breakfast who told our 200 early risers at The Park Lane Hotel about the challenges facing the Corporation today. His biggest challenge perhaps was answering questions from the floor which understandably wanted his view on the way the BBC treats Israel in the news.
 

World ORT and ORT UK stand with Paris

The terrorist attacks on innocent civilians in Paris are acts of sickening savagery, World ORT Director General and CEO Shmuel Sisso said.
 
“World ORT joins the international condemnation of this atrocious crime. We send our deepest condolences to those who have lost friends and relatives and sincerest wishes for a full and speedy recovery to the wounded. We stand in solidarity with France in its defence of the values we all hold dear,” Mr Sisso said.
