Our golfers rose up early to enjoy a glorious day at Dyrham Park Country Club. The course was great, the food was delicious and there were some fabulous prizes to be won at our raffle. Congratulations to our winning team Ben Rosen, Gregor Smith, Luke Aviet and Maurice Kindler. We are delighted that £20,000 was raised towards ORT's projects in the FSU and Israel.
On Wednesday 14 June, Philip Hook (author and senior international specialist in impressionist & modern art at Sotheby's) gave 120 guests a fascinating insight into the world of art dealing and the intrigue and stories connected to it. As he said “the art world is a heady and complicated mixture of aesthetic and intellectual stimulus coupled with cultural and social status."
The annual ORT-JUMP Graduation Reception took place on Tuesday 1 July 2016 at JW3. It was attended by a record number of 250 students, mentors, parents and teachers who celebrated the achievment of all those who took art in the programme.
ORT UK held another successful Business Breakfast with guest speaker, Tim Steiner OBE, CEO of Ocado who was interviewed by Samantha Simmonds where he answered questions such as what his inspiration for Ocado was; the importance of utilising technology in business and education; and what led him to become an entrepreneur.
21 UK participants have just returned from an exciting new 'twinning' project in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The 2016 Annual Dinner at the Jumeirah Carlton Towers raised nearly £500,000 to strengthen our STEM education in our network of 17 schools in the FSU.
Dr Jean de Gunzburg was honoured for his years of commitment to World ORT and presented with a platinum 1880 Society coin.
Towards the end of the evening Clive Coleman ensured there was not a serious face in the room as he regaled our 260 guests with anecdotes about his time as a barrister.

A fantastic £21,000 was raised at our sold out Ladies Fashion Show on 6th October. Almost 200 guests joined us in the fabulous TWENTYatN20 and were wowed with a stunning catwalk show presented by Jessimara, London. There were 8 differnt scenes which showcased stunning designs by Canada Goose, MMissoni, Vent Couvert, Jessimara Fur & Fur5Eight.
Our sponsors included hob Hair Salons, Larizia, Clarins at Fenwick, Brent Cross, Lola Rose and TWENTY at N20.
Michelle Mendelsson shared her secrets on work/life balance and happiness at work with our diverse audience of 50 women at our fabulous launch event sponsored and hosted by Fragomen LLP. The secret of being fulfilled at work according to Michelle is Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose.
Over 80 ladies attended a fabulous JIMMY CHOO exclusive Preview Sale in Sloane St, Knightsbridge. This was a brand new event by ORT UK and an opportunity to raise awareness and to promote the incredible work that ORT does around the world.
Over £60,000 was raised at the Summer Lunch on 16th May, honouring Lady Irene Hatter.
John Simpson CBE regaled the audience of 178 guests with his anecdotes about Colonel Ghadaffi amongst others.

On 16 March, 250 guests gathered for ORT UK's annual business breakfast. The main feature of the morning was media impresario Lord Grade interviewing Lloyd Dorfman, one of the UK's leading businessmen and philanthropists. The speakers were thanked by Noah Lachs, a former participant in ORT JUMP. Noah explained how the mentoring program had inspired him and given him the confidence to fulfill his potential. Noah was recently elected as President of the Oxford Union. The breakfast raised £50,000 towards ORT programmes.
The ORT UK Annual Dinner in honour of businessman and philanthropist Natie Kirsh was held on Tuesday 10th November at the Jumeirah Carlton Towers.
More than 300 guests helped to raise over £500,000 towards the ORT network of schools in Israel.
The 20th Annual ORT UK JACK ROSE GOLF CHALLENGE took place in the idyllic surroundings of Coombe Hill Golf Club.
The ORT-JUMP annual Graduation Reception took place on Thursday 2 July at the Arts Depot in Finchley. The 180 students, mentors and parents were lucky enough to have Laura Gordon, Executive Coach and CEO of Corporate Connections International as the guest speaker. The winner of the Student of the Year award went to Jordan Freud from JFS who was mentored by Danny Caro, Sports Editor at the JC.
Not only was it a glorious sunny afternoon, but it was also another highly successful Friends of ORT event which took place in the stunning Landmark Hotel.
Our guest speaker this year was author Barbara Winton, daughter of Humanitarian, Sir Nicholas Winton.
ORT UK held its annual Business Breakfast on the 24th March 2015 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel. The guest speaker was Tony Hall, CBE, the Director General of the BBC who spoke about the challenges facing the Corporation and its many achievements. Lloyd Dorfman, CBE, who hosted the Breakfast for the tenth year spoke about the incredible impact and life-changing nature of ORT that benefits nearly 300,00 students in 60 countries every year.
ORT UK held its Annual Gala Dinner on the 1st of October at Lincoln’s Inn raising nearly £0.5k towards ORT’s many worthy causes in Israel. A packed house saw 300 people gather to also celebrate Mark Mishon’s momentous 40 year contribution to the organisation.

Joanna Trollope enchanted our 100 guests at Lady Lipworth's house on May 13th with insight into how she writes, what motivates her and what it takes to be a best-selling novelist. A lovely way to raise £20,000 for our needy students in Israel.
The 260 guests filling the Sheraton's Ballroom were enthralled by Ms Mendelsohn’s lively and insightful overview of post-internet socio-economic development and Facebook’s place in it. The event raised £60,000 towards ORT’s upgrading of the network’s four schools in Ukraine.
200 guests gathered at Lincoln's Inn to meet our students from London to Kiev. Over £350,000 was raised.
